Baby Aoibhín's visit to the studio with her proud parent's, Danielle & PJ.....
Many thanks to Danielle & PJ for bringing their gorgeous baby girl, Aoibhín into the studio for her newborn photoshoot.Mum & Dad to be, called into the studio around 5 weeks before Aoibhín's arrival, to discuss their preferences for their first family portrait's.Both expressed their fondness for black & white photography , so with this in mind, we decided on "low-key" images (mainly dark tones) for their photoshoot, perfect for photographing soft baby skin tones, resulting in a collection of striking images.
Clare & Kevin, Saturday 4th June 2016
I’ve yet to have the pleasure of photographing a calmer Bride at her preparation’s than the lovely- Clare. The sun beamed down on Barnhill, Castledermot as the Bride to be, & her ladies, Kerry, Annette & Sheila, sipped champagne while their make-up was applied, & their hair was styled.Little Jamie enjoyed the attention of his Nanny, Grandad, & Clare’s lovely Bridesmaid’s, & didn’t appear to take much notice as to what was going on around him, until it was time to get his own hair done, before spending a brief moment admiring himself in the mirror!
The wedding car pulled onto the lawn, & after a few adjustment’s to the dress, final touches of make-up, & Clare’s Sister, Kerry fitted the all important garter, we got a few shot’s of Clare’s last minutes as a single lady with her proud Mam & Dad, Cathy & Paddy, & made the short journey to the church at Castledermot, where the handsome (but a little more nervous) Groom Kevin, along side his Groomsmen, & Dad Mick, awaited Clare’s arrival. The ceremony got underway, & amongst the tears & laughter, it was soon time for their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Kirwan.
Altamont Gardens was Clare & Kevin’s choice of venue for their formal photo’s, within a few miles of their Wedding reception at Ballykealy manor house hotel, just off the main Carlow-Wexford road.We spent an hour or so in the glorious sunshine capturing the happy couple’s special first moments as newly-weds, & then off to their reception for a few well earned celebratory glasses of bubbly! Later in the evening, we were treated to a fine display of musicianship by “the real king of rock-n-roll”, Mr. Kevin Kirwan!!!!! Take a bow Kevin-great stuff!
Finally, I’d like to wish Clare, Kevin & young Jamie, sincere best wishes for their future together, & thank them for giving me the opportunity of photographing their fantastic wedding day.
Michael.
Yvonne & Johnny.September 9th 2015.
A huge thank you to Yvonne & Johnny for choosing me to be a part of their special day.First port-of -call was at the Groom’s house in Tinryland, just a few miles outside Carlow town where I received a warm welcome from Johnny & his Groomsmen.Met Eireann issued an “orange weather alert” for the day, but thankfully the rain stayed away while we got a few shots of the ultra-calm Johnny, Tommy, Mark, & Father of the groom, Tommy Snr.
Off to the Bride’s house next, a few miles back into Carlow, & across the bridge to Staunton Avenue, Graiguecullen, to find Yvonne & her ladies, Karen & Louise, making their final preparation’s before the short journey to the chapel at Grange.Just as Yvonne was leaving the house as a single lady for the final time, the skies darkened, & the torrential rain we were warned about showed up!Mad dash into the car & we were away to the church where Fr. Little got the proceeding’s underway, and an hour later the couple were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Lyons. We managed to get a few shots at Grange (while dodging the rain) & later, sped off to the Woodford Dolmen hotel for the evening’s celebration’s to begin.
Stacey & Ger. July 9th 2015.
We started what was a great day at Stacey’s house, way up the long hill to Bilbao, to get a few shots of the stunning Bride’s preparations. The celebration’s were well & truly underway when I arrived-Champagne was flowing from early morning. We made the short trip back down the hill, into Leighlinbridge, and on to the ceremony at the multi-award winning Lord Bagenal hotel for a few shots of Ger & his Groomsmen while awaiting the Bride’s arrival.Thankfully, as this was an outdoor ceremony, the weather held-up, & within a short time they were Mr. & Mrs. Walsh!
The newlyweds were then whisked away to the historic grounds of Ducketts Grove for some “photo time” with the Bridal party & Family, and then back down the M9 to Leighlin for the celebration’s to begin!
